Jim Bartimus concentrates his practice in the areas of medical negligence and pharmaceutical litigation.
He earned his law from degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1977. He then attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine for three years.
Mr. Bartimus is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, all Missouri, Kansas and Colorado state courts, the United States District Court for the District of Kansas, and the Western District of Missouri.
He is a past president of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Foundation, and the Missouri Institute for Justice. Mr. Bartimus is a Fellow of the International Society of Barristers and the American College of Legal Medicine, and an Associate and past National Director of the American Board of Trial Advocates.
Mr. Bartimus is a member of the Missouri Bar, the Kansas Bar Association, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Kansas Association for Justice, the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, the American Judicature Society, the American Society of Legal Medicine, and Lawyers-Pilots Bar Association.
He has an AV Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell law directory, was voted “Best Medical Negligence Lawyer” in Missouri in 2007, and has consistently been listed in The Best Lawyers in America®.
Mr. Bartimus is a contributing author to several books and has written extensively for national legal publications. He is a past adjunct professor to the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, and is past adjunct graduate faculty for the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Nursing.
