Anne Tarvin’s colleagues describe her as “absolutely fearless,” a strong asset for personal injury attorneys who are often part of righting wrongs for thousands of plaintiffs at a time.
Yet even when she is in the midst of large, complicated cases, Anne still manages to remember each client’s name. Passionate about connecting with people beyond just the surface level, she believes that “being an attorney allows me to understand people on both a personal and professional level and to help them through very tough situations.”
As the daughter of a physician, Anne grew up exposed to her father’s passion for making people whole, which influenced her decision to become a plaintiff’s attorney. She excels at communicating complex data in a personal, down-to-earth manner, and takes pride in interpreting often-overwhelming details of the litigation process for her clients. She is so skilled at offering patience and empathy without judgment that clients often call her just to talk about their lives.
Anne loves the science behind many personal injury claims and the challenge of managing multiple moving parts in such cases. A skilled problem-solver and communicator, Anne is a passionate client advocate who is always willing to go down rabbit holes to discover what is most important to focus on in every case.
According to Anne Tarvin, if she were not a lawyer, she would be a professional interviewer. “I would love to get interesting politicians, influencers and the like to open up and divulge what makes them tick,” she says.
Luckily, she gets to use that skill set every day in her legal work – meeting with clients, taking depositions and working with experts in cases.
Anne is equally good at getting people to open up outside of work – often getting locals to show her the coolest, off-the-beaten-path locations that most tourists never get to see on vacations. She’ll tell you about “hidden explorations and adventures,” but never the locations - that would break the trust of the people who told her, something Anne never does.
Born in the small Flint Hills town of Onaga, Kansas, Anne’s parents raised her to be honest, loyal, and always try to make everyone around her a better person.
A former competitive piano player and abstract painter, Anne enjoys traveling, reading in the park near her home and creatively solving problems.
Her favorite part about being a lawyer? “Communicating with clients, co-counsel, opposing counsel, and judges. Developing strategies and arguments, and being able to communicate those effectively, is very satisfying,” says Anne.
She also believes in giving back to her community, volunteering as a student mentor at Kansas City’s Center Middle School and with Operation Breakthrough’s student reading program.
