This month, a federal panel of experts determined that two medical endoscopes manufactured by Olympus and also by two other companies was unsafe as designed. It urged federal regulators to do more to protect patients. But what about the patients who may already have been injured by these defective scopes? According to news sources the device is defective because it cannot be cleaned properly, leading to germs and tissue from one patient sometimes being transferred to other patients. If you or a loved one suffered a severe infection after routine endoscopic surgery (endoscopy, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, etc.) contact our office. We can help you determine if the scope used was one of the thousands that are unsafe. If it was, you may be entitled to compensation for your injury.
